Transitions
All transitions take place at the reservoir.
Swim (1/2 mile)
The swim will begin on the South side of Recapture Reservoir, approximately 3 miles North of Blanding, where the old HWY 191 is used as a boat launch. Participants will swim across the lake and back to the point of beginning. The total distance is 1/2 of a mile. Wet suits are permitted. (Hopefully we will have deep enough water to swim!)
Bike (15.2 miles This course is extremely hilly)
The first 1/2 mile of the bike is a steep climb out of the transition area. You will then pass by a radio tower and descend to the junction of HWY 191 where the course follows the highway to the right for approximately 1/2 mile. It then turns right again and follows the course up Blue Mountain Road to the turn-around. You will follow the same route back to the reservoir. The course is 15.2 miles.
Run (3.1 miles This course is extremely hilly)
The run course will follow dirt roads parallel to the shoreline of the lake to HWY 191 then follow the last 2.5 miles of the bike course to the finish line at the reservoir. The course is 3.1 miles.
